acrylic on canvas / 165x320 cm
All photographs by Borys Mysakovych.
Based on the childhood memories of seven people who largely grew up in Lower Saxony, Germany, a region economically very dependent on car manufacturer Volkswagen, this canvas is placed on the floor for people to walk over and explore. Mimicking the look of children's street carpets and their visual repertoire, it also inherits these carpets' political questionability, and limits the vivid memories of the people who told them into quite repetitive patterns with little nuance, building the world around its supposed major means of transportation: the automobile.
